The Story
What initially seemed like a practical long-term solution to the challenges of managing multiple horses in unfamiliar locations swiftly evolved into a significant endeavor aimed at assisting others facing similar difficulties. Bohème Equestrian is a recent acquisition, purchased and rebranded by Gunn Mercier in 2020. Previously abandoned due to its remote setting and extensive maintenance demands, the property underwent renovations the subsequent year. Gunn recognized the potential for the land not only to provide solace but also to enable people to forge cherished memories alongside her horses.
In the following months, she started meeting new people, all willing to work at the barn in exchange for a free place to board their horses. This arrangement created a vibrant and bustling community of horse enthusiasts, each bringing their own skills and passion to the barn. As more people began to help out, the barn underwent significant improvements.
The facilities were expanded, and new features were added to accommodate the growing number of horses and riders. The barn soon transformed into a larger stable, equipped with modern amenities and better resources for horse care and training. This gradual transformation marked the birth of the present Bohème Equestrian Centre. Today, it stands as a thriving hub for equestrian activities, attracting riders and horse lovers from all around the region. The centre is now known for its excellent facilities, welcoming atmosphere, and the strong sense of community it fosters among its members.
